Job summary

Werfnet in Gauteng is seeking a hands‑on Head of Finance to lead day‑to‑day financial operations within the energy equipment sector. You will manage invoicing, payments, reconciliations, cash flow and client relationships while ensuring accurate financial administration and strong internal controls.

The role requires 2+ years in finance, an accounting/finance qualification would be advantageous, and excellent Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• Accounting/Finance/Bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
• Strong experience in invoicing, payments, reconciliations and financial administration.
• Excellent Excel skills and good computer literacy.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day financial operations of the business.
• Prepare, process and issue customer invoices accurately and timeously.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on customer accounts and payments.
• Process and manage supplier and business payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are correctly captured.
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with cash‑flow forecasting.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Liaise with clients regarding invoices, payments, account queries and financial matters.
• Conduct regular client visits to maintain strong relationships and understand client requirements.
• Assist with pricing, quotations and financial aspects of client proposals where required.
• Prepare financial reports and management information for senior management.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Ensure financial policies, procedures and internal controls are adhered to.
