Job summary

Kontak Recruitment seeks a qualified CA(SA) for a Head Office Accountant role in Johannesburg. This strategic position covers group reporting, cash management, budgeting and executive reporting across over 30 entities.

You will deliver financial intelligence for board level decisions, with strong Excel modelling and exposure to Acumatica ERP. The role is non-transactional and demands cross-functional collaboration and deadline discipline.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA) is essential
• Approximately two years of post-articles experience in a relevant environment
• Practical exposure to monthly management accounts and group or multi-entity reporting
• Strong Excel capability with hands-on experience in financial modelling and reconciliations
• Comfortable preparing polished board packs and financial summaries for senior audiences
• Experience with cash flow reporting, budgeting processes, and variance analysis
• Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and engage confidently with finance and operational teams
• Exposure to Acumatica or similar ERP is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Oversee and review payment processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely execution, with responsibility for second release on payments
• Manage cash flow visibility through daily or weekly cash position reporting as required
• Support working capital monitoring and flag cash risks or funding requirements proactively
• Ensure appropriate controls, approvals, and documentation are maintained across payment processes
• Prepare, review, and analyse monthly management accounts for the group
• Assist with group reporting requirements including consolidation inputs, variance analysis, and written commentary
• Maintain accurate reconciliations and ensure all reporting deadlines are met consistently
• Work with business units to gather explanations for key movements and exceptions
• Support the group budgeting cycle including collection, consolidation, and review of budget inputs
• Assist with forecasts, cash flow projections, and scenario modelling
• Prepare budget variance analysis and communicate risks, opportunities, and key assumptions clearly
• Compile financial information, summaries, and slides for board packs and executive reporting
• Convert financial data into concise, decision-ready insights for senior management
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by the executive team
