Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Management Consultant to join its Financial Services practice in Midrand, Gauteng. You will advise banks, insurers, and asset managers on market entry, digital strategy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

You will lead strategic analyses, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and guide cross-functional teams on high-stakes projects that shape the financial services landscape in South Africa and beyond.

Qualifications

• MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or financial services operations/strategy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of key financial services sub-sectors (e.g., retail banking, corporate banking, insurance, asset management).

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans for financial services clients, addressing market challenges and opportunities.
• Conduct financial analysis, market research, and competitive intelligence within the financial services sector.
• Advise clients on digital transformation initiatives, including fintech integration and customer experience enhancement.
• Support clients in navigating regulatory changes and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost optimization.
• Lead project workstreams, ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs on time and within scope.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to leverage firm-wide capabilities.
• Contribute to thought leadership and business development efforts within the financial services practice.
