Job summary

Smith Garb is seeking an accomplished finance executive to partner with the Managing Director and the Executive Management Team. The role focuses on strategic financial leadership, P&L ownership, and governance across a multinational environment in Gauteng, South Africa.

Responsibilities include driving performance through FP&A, cost optimisation, and risk management while leading the Finance function and collaborating with IT and BI teams to enable data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA) with extensive financial leadership experience.
• Demonstrated executive-level business partnering and full P&L ownership.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS, SA GAAP, UK GAAP, taxation and statutory reporting.
• Experience collaborating with IT, Data and BI teams is advantageous.
• Experience in multinational or industrial environments is preferred.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities with robust systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to the MD and Executive Management.
• Drive performance through effective P&L management, FP&A and commercial decisions.
• Ensure robust governance, statutory reporting, audits, tax and risk management.
• Lead and develop the Finance function, overseeing Corporate Services and collaborating with IT/BI teams.
• Champion cost optimisation, working capital improvements and process enhancements.
• Contribute to regional/global transformation initiatives in line with Group objectives.
• Advanced Excel, SAP S/4HANA, Business Objects and BI tools proficiency essential.
