Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Digital Transformation Architect to reimagine the financial services client’s digital landscape in Pretoria. The role drives customer experience, optimizes operations, and spurs business innovation through a comprehensive digital strategy and modern architecture.

You will lead design, API strategies, cloud-enabled platforms, and security-driven scalability, mentoring teams and aligning with stakeholders across offices for a digital-first culture.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years in digital transformation.
• Proven track record designing and implementing large-scale digital solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with AI/ML, Big Data, IoT, and blockchain technologies.
• Strong understanding of business processes within financial services.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate a clear digital transformation strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Design and architect end-to-end digital solutions spanning customer-facing apps, backend systems, and data platforms.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies (AI, ML, IoT, Blockchain) for adoption.
• Lead the design and implementation of digital platforms, microservices, and API strategies.
• Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for digital innovation and process improvement.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and resilience of digital architecture.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners.
