Job summary

DLK is seeking a Data Analyst / Data Governance & Knowledge Management Consultant to drive enterprise‑level governance and knowledge initiatives in Cape Town. You will shape how data is managed, governed, and shared across a complex organisation.

You’ll lead requirements, analyse policies, and develop governance frameworks, with emphasis on data dictionaries, taxonomies, and asset inventories. Strong stakeholder engagement and cross‑functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Gathers requirements from stakeholders and leads governance workshops.
• Analyzes data policies, frameworks and standards to identify gaps.
• Develops and implements data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
• Establishes governance structures: roles, committees, escalation mechanisms.
• Creates and maintains data dictionaries, taxonomies, metadata repositories and asset inventories.
• Defines data ownership, stewardship and accountability models.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering and governance workshops for enterprise‑level initiatives.
• Analyse existing data policies, frameworks, and standards — identify gaps and suggest improvements.
• Develop and implement Data Governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
• Establish governance structures: roles, responsibilities, committees, escalation mechanisms.
• Create and maintain data taxonomies, dictionaries, metadata repositories, and asset inventories.
• Define and implement data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models.
• Develop and roll out a Knowledge Management maturity roadmap to improve capture, organisation and sharing of knowledge.
• Produce governance artefacts and high‑quality analysis for senior stakeholders.
