Job summary

GVW Group invites a Commodity Buyer to oversee sourcing of components for its global portfolio and lead supplier negotiations in Cape Town. The role focuses on RFQ management, supplier development, and cross-functional collaboration to support production and projects.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain and at least 5 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles, with strong negotiation, cost analysis, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and supplier management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Source components and identify qualified suppliers.
• Manage RFQ processes and supplier evaluations.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Support supplier development and performance improvement activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering for commercial decisions.
• Resolve supply chain and supplier-related issues.
• Drive cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.
• Prepare sourcing recommendations and business cases.
• Monitor and report on supplier performance metrics.
