To support the Procurement Manager in achieving the procurement goals and strategies. The function includes prioritising commodity-related initiatives aligned with the commodity cycle plan, with the objective of reducing the cost of goods and services procured by the company.
The successful candidate is responsible for:
- Develop and implement commodity and category sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives
- Lead sourcing initiatives, including supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management
- Manage compliance to all relevant policies, procedures, approval frameworks and codes of conduct in the CLM space
- Tracks spend analysis of new contracts in relevant Category to ensure contract compliance and engage with end users where the uptake of contracts are not honoured.
- Guidance and advise Contracts administrators on all contract amendments in the relevant category to ensure due governance has been followed
- Peruse and confirm the correctness of all contract amendments documentation prior to presenting to the Procurement Manager for recommendation
- Track contract expiry in line with the commodity planning and prepare extension documentation well in advance to ensure contracts always remain valid
- Assist contract administration with supplier negotiation when needed
- Identify training opportunities required by the Contract administration team and arrange appropriate training in collaboration with the other categories
- Review strategic contract holders off contract spend and engage with end users where relevant to optimise contract coverage
- Monitor that all documentary evidence per procurement transaction are archived on the Ariba workplace for future reference
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and optimise procurement outcomes.
- Understand contractual technical requirements of goods, scope of work of services contracts as well as terms and conditions relevant to amendments, payment terms
- Monitor and action completeness of activity-based tasks in Ariba to ensure accurate reporting of amendment
- Review and report completeness of critical contract conditions that require actions and conduct ad hoc checks on these critical terms of the contract e.g. payment terms, VAT indicators etc
- Performance Management by review dashboard in procurement and ensure all amendments are implemented timeously
- Grade 12 with Maths and Science or (NQF Level 4) is essential
- Degree in Business Administration/Finance/Supply Chain/CIPS/ Legal or NQF 7 equivalent is essential
- At least 5 years Contract Administration and Management (Mining Industry) is essential
- Computer literacy (MS Office Package) is essential
- A valid medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
