Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic partnership program to expand Linear Concepts Living's reach and promote the company as the leading name in the luxury furniture industry across Africa.
This role involves identifying, contacting, and building strong relationships with architects, interior designers, and other key stakeholders in the luxury design and construction sector.
This role requires the Business Development Manager to be on the move contacting and having in-person meetings with industry players to establish partnerships with Linear Concepts Living.
Responsibilities:
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify key architects, interior designers, developers, and other potential partners in target regions across Africa. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and partnership opportunities.
- Lead Generation and Qualification: Proactively identify and qualify potential partners through various channels, including online research, networking events, industry conferences, and referrals.
- Relationship Building and Management: Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at target firms. Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and follow-up communication to maintain engagement and build trust.
- Partnership Development and Negotiation: Develop and present compelling partnership proposals that clearly outline the mutual benefits of collaboration. Negotiate partnership agreements and ensure they are aligned with Linear Concepts Living's strategic objectives.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, design, and operations) to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to partnership development and provide regular reports to management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Brand Advocacy: Act as a brand ambassador for Linear Concepts Living, promoting the company's values, expertise, and commitment to quality within the luxury design community.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within South Africa and other African countries as needed to partner offices and events (essential).
- Achieve agreed-upon partnership targets and revenue goals.
- Build a strong network of key contacts within the target market.
- Develop and implement effective partnership strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of all partnership activities.
- Provide regular and insightful reports to management.
- Represent Linear Concepts Living professionally and ethically at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or partnership management, with preference given to applicants with prior substantial experience within the luxury, interior design, construction, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of the luxury market and the African business landscape.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive base salary and benefits package. However, this role offers significant earning potential through a performance-based commission structure. The Business Development Manager will earn commission on each successful partnership agreement secured and subsequent revenue generated through those partnerships in respect to Linear Concepts Living.
