Job description

An industry-leading client of ours is currently looking for a talented and experienced Stormwater Engineer to join their team of professionals in Cape Town, WC.

Responsibilities:

• Stormwater Management Planning: Conduct stormwater management planning for developments, using PCSWMM software. This includes hydrological calculations, hydraulic model compilation, calibration/verification, conceptual earthworks modelling, and drafting in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Flood Line Estimation: Conduct flood line studies primarily using HEC-RAS 1-D software. Experience with PCSWMM 2-D and HEC-RAS 2-D would be advantageous.
• Tender Documentation: Assist in preparing tender documentation related to stormwater infrastructure and compile Schedules of Quantity.
• Reporting: Prepare and present technical reports, including service reports and tender evaluations.
• Draft Designs: Draft 2D and 3D designs of piping systems, utilities, roadways, and other infrastructure for municipal civil projects.
• Plan Interpretation: Read civil engineering drawings and land surveys to determine placement of utility and piping systems.
• Compliance: Follow relevant codes and regulations, submit plans for approval, and stay updated on local standards and permits.
• Design Review: Review sketches and drawings to ensure standards and accuracy.
• Document Management: Manage drawings, reports, tenders, contracts, and participate in contract administration including site meetings and construction review.

Requirements:

• Minimum Tertiary Qualification (B Eng or B Tech)
• ECSA Professional Registration (advantageous)
• 5 – 7 years’ experience in stormwater analysis, assessment, and design
• Experience in greenfield and brownfield projects
• Knowledge of GCC2015, SABS1200, COLTO standards
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil Designer, and/or Civil 3D
• Cost estimation knowledge
• Experience with latest design software and technologies
• Understanding of ISO quality standards
