Job description

We are seeking an experienced Stores Controller to oversee inventory management, ensure efficient storage operations, and maintain accurate stock records in our fast-paced supply chain environment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, hands-on stores management experience, and the ability to supervise a team.

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 with Mathematics (essential)
  • Experience: 4+ years in stores management, preferably in manufacturing, mining, or industrial sectors including 1+ year in supervisory role
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP (highly preferred) and inventory systems. Familiarity with industrial equipment storage (e.g., machinery parts, hardware)
  • Advantageous: Training in SHEQ, stores traceability, or ISO standards. Experience with mining or heavy industrial supply chains
Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and record all incoming goods against delivery notes, ensuring timely GRN processing in SAP
  • Maintain accurate stock levels, implement FIFO principles, and oversee proper storage practices
  • Coordinate with drivers and the Supply Chain Manager to plan routes, ensuring on-time deliveries
  • Validate loaded items against delivery notes and manage documentation
  • Supervise Store Men and Drivers, ensuring adherence to Company’s operational and safety protocols
  • Enforce OHS Act Section 14 requirements and company's SHEQ standards
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and incident reporting
  • Generate stock movement reports for management, identifying areas for improvement
