Job description

This position is required to manage the Western Cape Stores facilities, spares and equipment. This position will be based Cape Town and other related contract sites receive their materials timeously and that stock levels of site’s required critical spares and materials are maintained. To ensure that stock issues are controlled, accounted for and checks are performed within given deadlines within company policies and procedures. The position reports to the Senior Maintenance Technician band the respective Plant Managers.

CRITICAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

Maintain inventory stock level of critical materials & spares

Place orders timeously to replenish stock levels

Issue materials / spares and maintenance equipment on request

Co-ordinate the issuing and delivery of materials to sites

Maintain the stores’ housekeeping

Maintain the stock recordkeeping / data capturing and improve the stock recording and issuing procedures as & when required.

Maintain and co-ordinate the record keeping of stock movements from suppliers to site and back, and between sites as required.

Supporting the maintenance team by coordinating the collecting and delivering of materials / spares to various site locations when required.

Assist with administration as appropriate to this position including archiving and filing

Assist with Fleet administration where & when required

COMPETENCY PROFILE

Knowledge and skills

Grade 12 tertiary qualification with further studies / courses relevant to stores supervision and store’s inventory administration skills, will be advantageous.

Relevant Administrative and Stores control experience – minimum of 3 years preferred

Valid Code B / EB required. Code C / EC will be advantage

High level of administrative, arithmetic, reporting and communication skills

Experience in the use of PC and Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Database)

High attention to detail and accuracy in data capture and stock handling

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as an integral part of a team

High moral standards and integrity in line with WSSA Code of Ethics

High sense of work priority and the ability to work unsupervised in a pressurized environment in order to meet stringent deadlines and ensure the sites have the required materials on time.

Willingness to work extra hours during peak / emergency periods to ensure deadlines are met.
