Job Purpose :
To efficiently manage the receipt, storage, issuing, and recording of medical supplies, laboratory consumables, and equipment to ensure accurate inventory control and uninterrupted operations in a medical environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Stock Control & Inventory :
Receive and inspect all incoming stock and verify against purchase orders.
Record and label stock accurately using inventory systems (manual or digital).
Monitor stock levels and assist in monthly / quarterly stock takes.
Ensure proper storage conditions for medical items (e.g., temperature-sensitive goods).
Issuing & Receiving :
Issue supplies to departments on request and update system records.
Prepare and dispatch stock transfers to other branches (if applicable).
Track and log movement of goods using internal systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Syspro).
Documentation & Recordkeeping :
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, stock issued, and reorders.
Generate stock reports as requested by supervisors or auditors.
Ensure documentation complies with regulatory standards (e.g., medical stock expiry tracking).
Compliance & Housekeeping :
Follow all infection control and safety protocols when handling medical items.
Keep storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations.
Report expired, damaged, or incorrect stock to the Stores Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements :
Grade 12 / Matric
13 years experience in a similar stores or inventory role, preferably in a medical or laboratory setting
Computer literacy (MS Excel, stock control systems like Sage or Pastel)
Good knowledge of stock control procedures and best practices
Attention to detail and accuracy
Key Competencies :
