Job summary

A dynamic retail organization in Johannesburg seeks unemployed youth aged 18-34 for stock management positions. Responsibilities include receiving and storing stock, inventory control, and supporting merchandising activities. Applicants should have a Grade 12 qualification and strong attention to detail. Previous retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34 are eligible to apply.
  • Must not have participated in the YES Programme before.
  • Previous experience in retail, warehousing, or stock management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming stock in designated areas.
  • Assist with inventory control, including regular stock counts and stock rotation.
  • Support merchandising activities like arranging promotional displays.

Skills

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming stock in designated areas.
  • Assist with inventory control, including regular stock counts and stock rotation.
  • Replenish shelves and ensure merchandise is neatly displayed according to store guidelines.
  • Support merchandising activities, including arranging promotional displays, price labeling, and ensuring planogram compliance.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, tidiness, and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Assist customers with inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Report damaged, missing, or expired stock to the Store Manager.
  • Support stock transfers, dispatch, and receiving processes.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in retail, warehousing, or stock management (advantageous).
  • Basic knowledge of merchandising principles.
