Storeman / Stock Controller – Wadeville, Johannesburg.

An exciting opportunity is available for a hands-on, proactive Storeman / Stock Controller to join a dynamic, workshop-driven environment.

This is a vital role where you’ll be the backbone of day-to-day warehouse operations—keeping everything flowing smoothly, from receiving and dispatching stock to supporting workshop teams with the right parts at the right time.

Minimum Requirements:

• Prior experience in warehouse, inventory, or stock control roles.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in packaging, manufacturing, or machinery industries preferred.
• Ability to work independently with a proactive mindset.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar inventory tools is an advantage.
• A forklift license is beneficial but not required.
• Comfortable supporting hands-on teams such as fitters and welders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a well-organized, clearly labelled, and clutter-free store layout.
• Accurately receive, store, issue, and dispatch stock, ensuring all inventory is recorded and up to date.
• Carry out monthly stock checks and reconcile physical counts with system records.
• Issue parts to the shop floor and track usage to specific jobs and staff.
• Manage purchases by generating POs, liaising with suppliers, and tracking deliveries.
• Check received goods against purchase orders and log stock into the inventory system.
• Plan delivery and collection routes for the driver and confirm schedules in advance.
• Inspect company vehicles before and after use, noting any transported items
• Prepare machines for dispatch, engrave serial numbers, and ensure all accessories are included.
• Cross-check orders against picking slips and dispatch documents to avoid any errors.
• Keep the warehouse and surrounding factory areas clean, presentable, and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Log, label, and store imported machinery and parts with precision and update stock records accordingly.
• Assist workshop teams when needed, including moving equipment or basic assembly work.
