Job summary

A leading company in the supply chain sector is seeking a Warehouse Operations professional in Cape Town. The role involves managing stock accuracy, supplier relationships, and compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have a Matric qualification and at least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably with ERP system proficiency. Job description

Responsibilities / Tasks

Warehousing

  • Receiving, binning, picking, and dispatching of stock.
  • Performing stock transfers and expediting deliveries.
  • Responsible for stock accuracy (Cape Town).
  • Replenishment management for fast-moving items (local and imports).
  • Arranging shipments for local customers.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe storage environment.

ERP

  • Provide first-line support to daily warehouse requirements.
  • Identify and escalate system-related process gaps or improvement opportunities.
  • Capability to generate and interpret reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and supply chain performances.

Supplier & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with preferred vendors and 3rd party customers.
  • Ensure all supplier interactions and transactions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of all supplier activities.
  • Quickly address and resolve any issues that arise with suppliers, such as delays or quality concerns, to minimize disruptions to operations.

Document Control & Compliance

  • Scanning of delivery notes and POD’s.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping and audit readiness.

Cost Control

  • Costing of freight for all imported purchase orders.
  • Assist with costing and quoting 3rd party customers.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Create, implement and enhance SOPs related to the warehouse function.
  • Encourage collaboration among team members to solve problems and improve processes.

Performance Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Develop and track KPIs across warehouse-related activities.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company safety rules and health & safety legislation.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
  • Additional tertiary qualification or certification in Warehousing or Supply Chain Management is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in warehouse operations.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience operating a forklift and/or overhead crane is beneficial.
