We’re recruiting for a Store Manager in the FMCG and retail sector.

Our client, a well-established brand, is looking for an experienced Store Manager to oversee all operations, sales, staff, and customer experience at their busy store in Kuils River. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong commercial, stock, and people management skills.

Location: Kuils River, Cape Town

  • 5–10 years’ retail management experience (FMCG preferred)
  • Diploma/Degree in Retail Management or Business Administration
  • Arch system experience preferred
  • Flexible to work weekends and public holidays
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of all store departments, ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Drive sales and implement strategies to meet monthly and annual revenue targets
  • Deliver high levels of customer service and handle escalated queries professionally
  • Lead and mentor Assistant Managers and broader store teams
  • Manage staff scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes
  • Monitor stock levels, control shrinkage, and maintain merchandising standards
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to optimise procurement and pricing
  • Prepare and manage store budgets and monthly expense reports
  • Analyse sales reports and implement performance-boosting actions
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and security regulations

Educational and Other Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Retail Management or Business Administration
  • Finance or Accounting qualification advantageous
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Sales-driven with a customer-centric mindset
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience using the Arch retail management system preferred
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced retail environment
