Description
The primary role of this position is to supervise and control the activities and operation of an Optical Outlets office.
Essential Functions
- Train new hires for various positions within Optical Outlets offices
- Supervise and control operation of the office to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Maintain all product, equipment, and supplies in the office
- Inform the District Manager of trends, needs, or problems
- Maintain office operations within controllable expense budgets
- Ensure proper promotional, merchandise, and display policies are followed
- Maintain positive patient/customer and public relations, including follow-up on complaints
- Establish professional relations with all doctors
- Provide coaching in new product introduction, technical, and selling techniques
- Supervise and follow up on all billing, including insurance and other payments
- Reconcile all financial reports
- Supervise and coordinate all doctor appointment scheduling
- Notify the District Manager of staffing, training, or wage issues
- Request approval for wage increases for subordinates
- Inform the District Manager of quality or patient flow problems
- Coordinate security-related matters
- Inform the District Manager of operational or procedural changes needed
- Perform tasks assigned by the District Manager
Requirements
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a business-related environment
- Optical experience preferred
- Proven leadership and strategic understanding of optometric business processes
- Ability to recruit, train, coach, and develop staff
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities and adapt to changes
Working Conditions
The work environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature, and no hazardous conditions.
