Job Description : Asset Management :
- Responsible for the branch as a whole, ensuring that the outside of the store is kept neat and tidy and that inside fixtures and fittings are accounted for and maintained.
- Coordinate janitorial and repair services.
Stock Control :
- Responsible for all stock and accountable for all overages and shortages.
- Prepare requisitions to replenish stock.
- Identify and report on slow-selling items.
- Conduct stock takes.
Merchandising :
- Coordinate the layout of shelves and merchandise for seasonal and sale displays.
- Identify new ways of promoting merchandise.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Manage the quality and quantity of merchandise assortments.
Marketing and Sales :
- Manage the implementation of marketing promotions to maximize sales opportunities.
- Prepare and oversee staff preparing merchandise displays.
- Actively participate in promotions.
- Stay updated with current advertising trends.
- Provide leadership to staff.
- Stay informed about products, marketing, and pricing of competitors.
- Achieve and exceed store sales targets.
- Organize special promotions, sales, and events.
- Initiate change and improvement suggestions.
Admin and Cash :
- Ensure store administration and procedures meet standards.
- Ensure proper handling of store cash by responsible persons, with daily verification.
- Manage controllable expenses to enhance profitability.
- Report to Area Manager.
Management of Staff :
- Assign duties based on JD, To Do Lists, Plans, and Goals.
- Encourage, assist, and train employees to become motivated sales personnel.
- Manage staff performance and development.
- Enforce procedures and policies, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Determine staffing needs and recruit accordingly.
- Handle recruitment processes.
- Facilitate staff meetings.
Security / Risk :
- Manage business security and ensure adherence to security procedures.
- Monitor security staff performance.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met.
Customer Services :
- Apply customer service principles consistently.
- Train staff in customer service.
- Assist customers with inquiries and complaints.
- Continuously attract and satisfy customers.
Job Requirements :
- Matric Certificate.
- NQF 5 / 6 Certificate or Diploma in Retail / Business Management (preferable).
- Valid Driver’s License – Code 8 unendorsed.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in sales, retail, or operations as an Assistant Manager or Manager.
