Storage Specialist

Reference : CPT-AK-1

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining Storage, SAN, and Compute hardware by providing OEM good practices through designing, implementing, and deploying shared system resources, like disks and networking.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor, contribute, and report on compliance to documented protocols to ensure contractual objectives are achieved.
2. Maintain short-term and long-term Capacity and Availability goals to deliver on day-to-day services.
3. Develop and partake in the policies, procedures, and organization capability to establish sufficient capacity for continuity and disaster recovery.
4. Participate in any incident that leads to a disastrous event.
5. Partake in annual disaster recovery testing as required and specified in the Contract.
6. Contribute to GORT IT DR plans, policies, and strategies.
7. Storage provisioning.
8. Zoning.
9. Firmware maintenance (SAN, Storage, Blade Chassis, Physical servers).
10. Maintain HPE reporting integration (On-prem and Cloud).
11. Hardware repairs.

Requirements:

1. Grade 12.
2. Undergraduate degree / diploma in IT or currently working towards completing a Degree / Diploma in IT.
3. Various hardware vendor experience and certifications.
4. ITIL certification.
5. A+ and N+ Certification.
6. Experience in IT Enterprise size DR, plan, implement and maintain.
7. Managing HPE 3PAR StoreServ I, experience or certification.
8. Managing HPE 3PAR StoreServ II, experience or certification.
9. Implementing MSA Storage Solutions, experience or certification.
10. Brocade SAN Enterprise Experience, experience or certification.
11. 5+ years' experience in an Enterprise IT Environment.

Knowledge of:

1. Systems and Systems Integration.
2. Vendor Management.
3. Managing 15 Petabytes.
4. Technical lead for Plan, Build and Operate.
5. HPE 3PAR (series, series).
6. HPE MSA.
7. HPE Blade Chassis (series, series).
8. HPE Physical servers (Various models).
9. SAN – Physical and Fabrics (Director Class, Blade Chassis switches).
