Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Retail Stock Controller to manage inventory at a Paarl store. You will oversee stock control, cycle counts, and loss prevention while coordinating with purchasing and sales teams to maintain stock availability.

The role requires experience in retail stock control, proficiency with inventory software and POS systems, and strong analytical skills with attention to detail. You will work in a dynamic Western Cape retail environment in Paarl.

Qualifications

• Experience in stock control or inventory management within retail.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and POS systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Able to perform physical stock handling tasks including lifting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of stock control, including receiving, dispatching, and internal transfers.
• Conduct regular stock takes (cycle counts and full inventories) to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Monitor stock levels and reorder points, liaising with purchasing to ensure adequate stock availability.
• Implement and enforce stock control policies and procedures to minimize loss and damage.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the stock management system.
• Analyze stock movement reports to identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
• Ensure proper storage and organization of stock within the warehouse and sales floor.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure efficient stock replenishment on the shop floor.
• Report on stockholding, shrinkage, and inventory performance metrics.
