Job description
Overview

A vacancy exists for a committed individual as a Stock Controller in Emergency Unit based at Life Wilgers Hospital reporting to the Pharmacy Manager & Emergency Department Manager. The successful candidate will become part of a professional team that continuously strives for the highest standards of quality in Life Healthcare.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the management of stock inventory in the unit.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock and dead stock as per agreed level.
  • Coordinate and participate in monthly as well as quarterly stock takes and investigations of the variance report.
  • Investigate weekly reports, negative stock and outstanding orders.
  • Liaise with nursing staff and ward clerk regarding queries and timeous follow up on back orders and out of stock items.
  • Ordering of stock from pharmacy.
  • Receiving stock from the pharmacy and unpacking of stock on shelves.
  • Bin maintenance.
  • Maintaining shelves of store room.
  • Managing cost of sales within scope of practice.
  • Responsibility for the management of stock in the Emergency Department which includes patient billing, invoice billing, management of nursing cards.
Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • 2 – 3 years working experience.
  • Must be computer literate. Knowledge of Life Healthcare systems (SAP, iMeds and Impilo) will be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of proficiency in Microsoft specifically Excel.
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Precise and meticulous in work.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Available for duties on weekends and public holidays if required. Flexi time as required by the Unit.
