Job description

Stock Controller (Automotive Industry) – Fourways, Johannesburg.

A high-performing, fast-paced vehicle dealership based in Fourways is looking for a skilled and emotionally resilient Stock Controller.

This role is responsible for managing floorplan vehicles, coordinating stock movement, ensuring accurate licensing documentation, and liaising with banks and finance houses.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, process-driven, and able to handle the intensity of a busy automotive environment with confidence and attention to detail

Salary: R18 000 – R25 000 CTC per month.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ stock control experience within the motor industry
  • Proven experience managing floorplans, including requesting, settling, and tracking
  • Experience working directly with banks (e.g. WesBank, ABSA, MFC, DFS)
  • Strong understanding of NATIS documentation, licensing, and FICA compliance
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with automotive invoicing systems (e.g. VMG)
  • High attention to detail, multitasking ability, and strong administrative skills
  • Emotionally resilient and comfortable working under pressure in a high-volume environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage floorplan statuses: sold, unsold, flagged, and available funds
  • Prepare floorplan settlements and handle documentation submissions to banks
  • Maintain combined spreadsheets for internal and external floorplans
  • Move stock for finance approvals and coordinate between trade and retail categories
  • Follow up on outstanding NATIS documents and licensing requirements
  • Load floorplan applications, invoice new stock, and handle consignment tracking
  • Process flagged payments, cancellations, and vehicle re-floorplans
  • Liaise with suppliers for FICA documents and banking requirements
  • Handle bank allocations, credit notes, and licensing paperwork
  • Track and reconcile stock creditors and oversee stock-in processes across locations
  • Support audit preparation and administrative shutdown tasks when required
