Job Purpose

The Stock Controller / Auditor will be responsible for managing inventory, conducting stock audits, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across multiple service station sites. The ideal candidate should have a background in stock control, auditing, or accounting, with strong attention to detail and the ability to travel regularly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock Management & Control
    • Monitor fuel and retail stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    • Implement and enforce stock control procedures to minimize losses and discrepancies.
    • Conduct regular stock reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Auditing & Financial Oversight
    • Perform site audits to ensure proper financial and operational controls are in place.
    • Investigate stock losses, theft, and discrepancies, implementing corrective actions.
    • Assist in financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Compliance & Process Improvement
    • Ensure stock management aligns with company policies and fuel retail industry regulations.
    • Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements in stock control and accounting processes.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits.
  • Travel & Site Coordination
    • Regularly visit fuel stations along the assigned route to conduct stock checks and audits.
    • Work closely with station managers to improve stock accuracy and operational efficiency.
    • Provide training and guidance on proper stock handling and loss prevention.
Employment Type: Full-Time

Remuneration: Market-related, based on experience

Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in stock control, auditing, or financial management.
    • Fuel retail or FMCG industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail with high levels of accuracy in stock and financial reporting.
    • Ability to work independently and travel frequently between sites.
    • Excellent numerical, auditing, and investigative abilities.
  • Qualifications:
    • Matric (Grade 12) required.
    • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
