Job description

Stock Controller position available in Stellenbosch.

Our client in the cosmetic industry in Stellenbosch is looking for a Stock Controller to join their growing team.

The Stock Controller is responsible for managing the storerooms of complete, sellable products in an effective and efficient manner, so that customer orders are accurately processed, picked and packed.

Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Experience in storekeeping, stock control and stocktakes.
  • Experience in scanning out and picking of products according to picking lists.
  • Experience is careful wrapping and packing of products to protect them in transit again impacts, being dropped or mishandled.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide storekeeping functions in support of customer service ensuring efficiency and effectiveness within the dispatch process:

  • Responsible and accountable for product stock.
  • Accuracy and careful processing of customer orders:
  • Scanning out products as per orders.
  • Picking correct products.
  • Checking Packing Lists against Scanned Reports.
  • Careful packing of products to best protect them in transit, especially in loose boxes sent via courier.
  • Keep product store in a clinically clean and organised state.
  • Work clinically, by ensuring packing tables are used in an organised and clinical fashion.
  • Keep stores, working- and packing areas neat and tidy.
  • Accept responsibility for errors, and contribute to practical ways to prevent errors.
  • Take initiative and work in a team environment to the benefit of the company.

Manage staff under your control to ensure effective processing and packing of orders:

  • Control the quality of processing, checking and packing of orders.
  • Control stocktake procedures, follow procedures to work through and check
  • Stocktake Variance Reports and Stock-Not-Counted Reports to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
  • Manage and train staff in the correct procedures and ways of doing the job.

General duties:

  • Support management and production staff where needed.
