Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Stock Controller to join our team in Pretoria, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, processing orders, tracking product movement, handling Bill of Materials (BOMs), and ensuring the efficient and accurate management of inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management:
    Monitor stock levels and ensure they are adequate to meet operational requirements.
    Perform regular stock counts and reconciliation, ensuring discrepancies are addressed promptly.
    Review stock levels regularly and place orders for stock replenishment based on forecasted demand and trends.
    Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and proper quality of stock.
  2. Stock Movement & Tracking:
    Maintain accurate records of stock movements and ensure inventory software systems are up to date.
  3. Bill of Materials (BOMs):
    Create, manage, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production or assembly processes.
    Ensure BOMs are accurate and up to date, reflecting correct material requirements for manufacturing.
    Work closely with the production and procurement teams to ensure the availability of materials listed in BOMs.
  4. Reporting & Analysis:
    Generate and present stock reports regularly to management, identifying trends, issues, or opportunities.
    Analyse inventory data to improve stock control processes and prevent overstocking or stock outs.
  5. Compliance:
    Assist in audits and stock checks, ensuring that all stock is accounted for, and discrepancies are resolved.
    Work closely with the purchasing, sales, production, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
    Communicate with suppliers and internal teams about stock availability, shortages, and deliveries.
  6. Stock System Maintenance:
    Maintain and update stock management systems, ensuring they are accurate and efficient.
    Resolve any issues with stock data or system discrepancies.

Requirements:

    Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar role.
    Experience with creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
    Experience with inventory software.
  3. Skills:
    Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary offered: R22 000 – R26 000 CTC per month, depending on experience.

Type: Full-time permanent position.
