Job summary

Greys Recruitment client seeks a Stock Controller in Cape Town to manage stock transfers from production to Finished Goods, maintain strict stock control and accurate documentation, and ensure pallets are repacked for storage or dispatch.

The role requires BOM knowledge, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work with the Pick System; start date immediate; temporary to permanent with an initial contract of 3 months; wage R38.37 per hour.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in stock control, warehouse operations, or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and backflushing processes.
• Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive finished products from production and verify quantities against production records.
• Accurately record all stock movements between production and Finished Goods.
• Investigate and report stock discrepancies immediately.
• Maintain accurate stock records at all times.
• Complete and maintain all stock transfer documentation accurately.
• Complete pallet cards are attached to FG pallets, batch records are displayed.
• Maintain full product and batch traceability records.
• Verify that all Bills of Materials (BOMs) are correct and accurately reflect the products manufactured.
• Ensure production orders are correctly backflushed (BOM processed) in the Pick System before stock is transferred to Finished Goods.
• Ensure all pallets and finished products have been inspected, approved, and signed off by Quality before acceptance into Finished Goods.
• Regularly lift, move, and repack pallets from plastic pallets to wooden pallets with bags weighing up to 25kg.
• Repack pallets according to company standards and customer requirements.
• Ensure pallets are correctly wrapped, labelled, and secured.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.

Job description

Our client is looking for a Stock Controller to control and accurately transfer finished goods from production into the Finished Goods (FG) warehouse while maintaining strict stock control procedures, accurate documentation, and ensuring pallets are correctly repacked and prepared for storage or dispatch. The incumbent will also ensure that all production documentation, quality approvals, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and system transactions are accurately completed before stock is accepted into Finished Goods.
