A leading company in the supply chain sector is looking for a Demand Planner in South Africa. The role involves managing demand planning, ensuring stock accuracy, overseeing inbound logistics, and improving inventory processes. Candidates should have a degree in Supply Chain Management and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Demand Planning & Inventory Alignment:Take ownership of demand planning processes across China and other Positec Market Units (MUs), ensuring optimal stock levels aligned with sales forecasts.
Stock Accuracy & Control:Lead monthly stock reconciliation and control reviews, ensuring consistency between physical stock, warehouse records, and ERP system data.
Inbound Logistics Coordination:Manage all aspects of inbound shipments, including tracking, customs clearance, and coordination with freight partners.
Import Compliance & Documentation:Ensure accurate handling, archiving, and compliance of all import-related documentation (e.g., LOAs, MSDS, GRNs), in line with SARS and local regulations.
Goods Receipt & System Updates:Oversee goods receipt procedures, including physical verification and timely system updates (GRN processing).
Order Fulfilment:Coordinate weekly order dispatches, ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries to customers.
Returns Management:Manage stock and credit returns by assessing physical returns and validating their financial impact.
Inventory Optimisation:Monitor stock velocity and inventory targets, driving actions to improve turnover and reduce obsolete stock.
Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with Finance, Sales, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operational flows and data alignment.
Process Improvement:Proactively identify and implement improvements in inventory and supply chain processes to drive efficiency and enhance customer service.
A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
At least 3–5 years of experience in inventory or supply chain management roles.
Solid understanding of import/export regulations in South Africa, including practical experience with SARS and customs procedures.
Confident working with ERP systems (ideally Cin7) and advanced Excel skills.
Analytical, well-organised, and detail-oriented.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders across functions.
