South African Airways seeks a skilled STC Electrician for its SAA Technical unit to maintain, troubleshoot, inspect and install electrical systems across facilities. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of critical infrastructure within corporate real estate services and facilities environments.

The role requires a 12-month fixed-term contract, with 2–3 years post-trade experience and a valid Electrician trade certificate. OHS/First Aid training is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric or equivalent at NQF 4.
• Trade Test Certificate: Electrician essential.
• Electrical Engineering N4–N6 will be an advantage.
• Wireman’s Licence will be an advantage.
• OHS and First Aid Training will be an advantage.
• Minimum 2–3 years post-trade experience in facilities or critical infrastructure environments.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.

Responsabilités

• Execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
• Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and emergency callouts.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records, reports and work orders.
• Support asset lifecycle planning and replacement initiatives.
• Monitor and supervise electrical contractors.
• Ensure availability and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure.

Job Purpose

The incumbent of the role will perform maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, inspections, and installation of electrical systems and equipment across SAA facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, compliant, and uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure.
