Job summary

Guardrisk Life Ltd is seeking a qualified accountant to manage SAM returns, IFRS financial statements and SARS reporting within a life insurance context. The role also handles portfolio accounting and tax computations under IFRS 17 considerations.

The successful candidate will have a CA(SA) or equivalent with 2–4 years post-articles experience in life insurance, and a solid grasp of statutory reporting, tax compliance and group reporting packs.

Qualifications

• Bcom Accounting degree or equivalent.
• CA(SA) designation or eligible body membership preferred.
• 2–4 years post-article experience mandatory in accounting/finance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare SAM quarterly and annual returns.
• Prepare IFRS financial statements on an IFRS basis.
• Calculate, prepare and submit SARS deliverables (income tax, PAYE, etc.).
• Prepare and submit group reporting packs.
• Support portfolio accountants with technical queries and cross-functional coordination.
• Oversee year-end external audit and internal audit processes.
• Manage client trial balances and payments for a portfolio of clients.
