Starke Ayres is the leading African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower, and lawn seed varieties for both commercial and home gardening.

We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for our depot in Kempton Park. The role involves overseeing receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with company standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in logistics or warehouse management. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism in dispatch operations.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage the Accuracy and Quality of Goods Received: Reconcile received goods with delivery notes, transfers, and credit notes; record discrepancies. Ensure timely movement of goods to the main store, verify expiry dates, and arrange re-packing for quality issues. Authorize Goods Issue (GI) within 8 hours of receipt.
  2. Off-loading of Containers and Vehicles: Coordinate with the Distribution Centre Supervisor for labor; supervise off-loading to ensure safety and efficiency.
  3. Warehousing and Storage: Store products securely, maintain cleanliness, and organize workspace. Monitor for pest activity and ensure FIFO practices. Conduct regular checks and coordinate sampling and fumigation activities.
  4. Security: Ensure all products are secure; report shortages and losses immediately. Assist in security during loading and off-loading; secure warehouse access points.
  5. General: Conduct weekly and high-risk stock counts; assist with stock takes; support team members; maintain a tidy work environment; uphold a professional image.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in logistics, dispatch, or warehouse coordination.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; knowledge of safety protocols; proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
