Starke Ayres is the leading African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower, and lawn seed varieties for both commercial and home gardening. We are seeking a Retail Sales Representative based in Kempton Park. The role aims to maximize sales returns from our approved product range within the framework of company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop joint business plans for key customers and sales plans for other customers.
- Implement and monitor strategies weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets consistently.
- Drive market penetration through sound commercial discussions and negotiations.
- Identify priority products in your area, phased annually, seasonally, and monthly.
- Identify priority customers aligned with product priorities.
- Regularly canvass existing and potential customers according to pre-determined routes and schedules.
- Update customers with product information, price lists, point of sale materials, and specials.
- Promote priority products based on customer needs and product benefits.
- Ensure correct and timely execution of orders.
- Maintain regular contact with customers, pre-empt issues, and address problems efficiently.
- Provide advice and information to maximize product utilization.
- Conduct in-store customer training to stimulate retail sales.
- Resolve customer complaints through investigation, solution development, and reporting.
- Act professionally and responsibly, fostering goodwill and a positive company image.
- Identify and develop promotional and advertising opportunities, ensuring ROI.
- Participate in planning and executing exhibitions, displays, and in-store promotions within budget.
- Distribute promotional materials such as brochures, posters, and samples.
- Ensure high standards for shelf displays, negotiate pricing, and manage stock rotation and removal of expired stock.
- Sourcing prime display spots and erecting stands during key seasons.
- Implement all promotions negotiated with head office.
