An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Stagehand to support live performances on a cruise ship. This role involves assisting with the setup and breakdown of stage equipment, operating lighting and sound during shows, and ensuring smooth transitions between performances. - Assist in the setup and breakdown of all stage equipment and props for performances
- Operate lighting, sound, and special effects during performances
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on stage equipment as needed
- Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment during port stops
- Work closely with the Stage Manager to ensure smooth transitions between performances
- Communicate effectively with other crew members to ensure the safety and success of each performance
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized backstage area
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Stage Manager or other superiors
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Stagehand in a live performance setting
- Knowledge of lighting, sound, and special effects equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Willingness to travel and work on a cruise ship for extended periods of time
- Basic understanding of technical theater concepts and terminology
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical theater training is a plus
