Job summary

A leading cruise entertainment company seeks a Technical Assistant to assist with setups and operate equipment during performances. Ideal candidates should have prior experience in entertainment settings and be physically fit. The role requires strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Successful applicants will live onboard a cruise ship for extended periods, ensuring all performances run smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a cruise ship or live entertainment setting.
  • Knowledge of lighting, sound, and other technical equipment used in stage productions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing schedules.

  • Assist with the set-up, maintenance, and strike of all stage and technical equipment for performances and events.
  • Operate lighting, sound, and other technical equipment during shows and events.
  • Work closely with the Entertainment Team to ensure all performances run smoothly.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the set-up, maintenance, and strike of all stage and technical equipment for performances and events
  • Operate lighting, sound, and other technical equipment during shows and events
  • Work closely with the Entertainment Team to ensure all performances run smoothly and efficiently
  • Participate in rehearsals and assist with any necessary changes or adjustments to technical aspects of the shows
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment on the stage and backstage areas
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment during port days and embarkation/disembarkation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Stage Manager or Entertainment Director
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a cruise ship or live entertainment setting
  • Knowledge of lighting, sound, and other technical equipment used in stage productions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing schedules and show requirements
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy equipment
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and obtain necessary travel documents
  • Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
  • Must be willing to live and work onboard a cruise ship for extended periods of time
