Job description

Description in this role involves providing direct patient care for a diverse patient population.

You will collaborate with clinic management, administration, faculty physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, and other clinical staff, including LVNs, MAs, and ancillary personnel, to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities include maintaining high standards of care, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms of life-threatening emergencies, and coordinating and prioritizing tasks according to department protocols.

Salary Range

$34.61 - $45.66 hourly

Qualifications
  • Possess a license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with IV therapy and blood withdrawal certification
  • Possession of BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Perform phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other skills within scope of practice
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications, and obtain drug refills as needed
  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and life-threatening medical problems
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Windows functions, navigation, and use of computerized patient care systems
  • Knowledge of safety requirements when handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain a cooperative working environment with physicians, staff, and other health providers
  • Effective verbal communication skills for conveying sensitive information courteously in person or over the phone

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of instruments and supplies used for physical examinations and procedures
  • 6+ months of LVN experience
