DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Global Services Delivery Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a crucial role in orchestrating seamless delivery of AWS Global Services offerings during large-scale migrations and complex projects. In this highly visible position, you will ensure that all AWS teams work together effectively to deliver customer outcomes. You will act as the primary coordinator for the Global Services Organization, from contract signing through the launch phase and typically 3 months post-go-live; your role is to ensure cohesive delivery across teams such as Professional Services, Amazon Managed Services (AMS), Solutions Architecture, Training and Development, and Enterprise Support, with a focus on AMS integration and reporting.

You will interface with customers and AWS leadership, drive collaboration between core account groups (Sales, Support, Solutions Architecture, Professional Services), product/engineering teams, and customer teams, planning and supporting major workload migrations.

This role requires a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences while driving innovation and operational excellence across diverse teams with differing priorities. The GSDM must adapt quickly to changing project needs and customer expectations, especially in large-scale migrations and complex AWS deployments involving managed services.

The mission of the Global Services Delivery Manager is: "To ensure every workload migrating to AWS operates securely, efficiently, and resiliently, leveraging Global Services' collective experience to deliver a unified customer experience."

At AWS, you are encouraged to think big, invent, and take ownership of customer challenges. You will bring the best of AWS/Amazon to our customers and proactively help solve their challenges through new ideas, tools, and mechanisms. Successful candidates will have a strong background in delivery and change management, be detail-oriented, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be exemplary communicators at all levels. You will lead peers, gain stakeholder buy-in, negotiate, and lead virtual teams. Your enterprise experience and operational excellence will influence decisions, provide insights, and help drive secure, robust solutions.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Lead coordination of AWS Global Services teams during large migrations and complex projects involving multiple service offerings such as Professional Services, AWS Managed Services, and Enterprise Support.
  2. Serve as the primary contact for customers expecting a managed service provider experience, ensuring clear communication and comprehensive reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Develop and implement reporting mechanisms aligned with customer expectations, including SLA reporting, performance metrics, and progress updates.
  4. Coordinate the implementation of bespoke solutions and non-standard service terms, working closely with Global Services commercial teams.
  5. Oversee the transition from project implementation to service operation, ensuring alignment on responsibilities and expectations.
  6. Collaborate with Account Managers, Solutions Architects, Customer Solutions Managers, Cloud Service Delivery Managers, and Technical Account Managers to align priorities and plans.
  7. Lead RFP responses from a technical perspective on behalf of AWS Support.
  8. Identify risks and improvement opportunities, driving initiatives to completion leveraging AWS Global Services capabilities.
  9. Establish governance frameworks for large migrations and projects, including roles, communication protocols, and cross-functional alignment.
  10. Manage customer expectations and engagement with C-Level stakeholders, acting as an escalation point for critical issues.
