Service Operations Department is looking for a Field Service Engineer to be located in Cape Town, South Africa.

The position will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, fault diagnosis, and on-site servicing of Alfa Laval equipment on board ships and land-based installations, such as decanters, separators, and plate heat exchangers.
The Service Engineer will be required to work across the region & internationally, with an envisaged travel of 2-3 weeks per month.
Key Responsibilities & Objectives
- Commissioning and troubleshooting high-speed separators, fresh water makers, and heat exchangers on board ships.
- Troubleshooting electrical / PLC controls (EPC controls, 2 touch, basic & plus controls) associated with Alfa Laval equipment.
- Handling decanters used in food / wastewater applications.
- Executing audits and maintenance activities related to service agreements.
- Training customer crew on the operation of Alfa Laval equipment.
- Preparing service / audit reports with technical recommendations.
- Maintaining a safety-conscious "think – act – behave" attitude.
- Participating in ad hoc service projects.

The position is located in Johannesburg, South Africa, focusing mainly on the installed base across South & East Africa. The position will report to the Field Service Team Manager based in Johannesburg.

- Strong skills in electrical, PLC, and controls.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written) and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
