Job Summary


As a Senior Electronics Engineer III, you will be a part of the R&D engineering team, directly contributing to the design and implementation of the electronic hardware utilized in our medical devices.


Duties & Responsibilities



  • Design ownership and oversee engineering life cycle of hardware including architecture, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.

  • Development of systems and printed circuit boards.

  • PCB layout and schematic entry.

  • Perform and oversee hardware verification testing.

  • Perform electrical design calculations.

  • Project scheduling/estimation.

  • Defining project performance requirements.


Minimum Requirements



  • 10+ years industry experience with product level development.

  • Ability to articulate problems and solutions.

  • Good communicator with cross functional team members (ME, SW, PMO).

  • Familiar with product development cycle (concept-to-production).

  • Ability to describe electrical systems in a block diagram format and also dive into details of each functional block.

  • Experience with designing and troubleshooting Analog circuits.

  • Developing code using C for embedded systems for board bring up.

  • Experience with embedded firmware development using ST, Nordic, Atmel, Renesas, or other 32-bit ARM processors.

  • Experience with schematic capture tools: PADS, OrCAD, Altium.

  • Experience with electrical simulation software tools: Multisim, PSPICE, TINA.

  • Basic knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, USB).

  • Experience with either overseeing or designing PCB layout.

  • Able to generate design related documentation for project deliverables.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Master's Degree.

  • Ability to work onsite Monday - Friday in Irvine, CA office.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with designing for compliance to IEC 60601-1.

  • RF Design/Testing experience.

  • Medical device or biomedical device background.

  • Experience in designing for EMC compliance and troubleshooting EMC problems.

  • Multi-domain troubleshooting in Analog, Digital, and RF portions of designs.

  • Basic experience with Matlab.

  • Experience with designing for Signal Integrity.

  • Experience in interfacing to sensors (Pressure, temperature, humidity).


Compensation: The anticipated range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.

Physical requirements/Work Environment


This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.
