Qualified Vehicle Spraypainter & Panelbeater
Location: Johannesburg, Kempton Park
Salary: R30,000.00 per month

Position Overview:

National Luxury Bus company seeks a Qualified Vehicle Spraypainter & Panelbeater with strong technical skills and experience in high-volume workshops, especially with heavy-duty vehicles such as coaches or trucks. The ideal candidate should be dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering high-quality work consistently in a professional environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Wear and maintain protective clothing.
  • Use and understand hand and power tools.
  • Maintain spray booth according to the manufacturer’s manual.
  • Clean filters daily to ensure proper airflow.
  • Conduct regular inspections of air supply equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of surface preparation.
  • Apply appropriate vehicle painting materials and techniques.
  • Mix and match paint colors accurately.
  • Remove paint imperfections using correct methods.
  • Perform quality checks after each process step.
  • Handle client or team complaints in the absence of the workshop manager.
  • Mentor and support apprentices under supervision.
  • Report punctually and maintain accurate timekeeping.
  • Ensure job cards are completed and vehicles checked in properly.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks throughout the repair and painting process.
  • Adhere to workshop schedules and assist team members as needed.
  • Willing to work after hours and on weekends when required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Spray Painter/Panelbeater
  • Valid Code EC or EC1 (04) license (advantageous)
  • 5+ years experience in a large workshop as a Spray Painter
  • Experience with coaches/trucks/heavy-duty vehicles (advantageous)
  • Highly motivated, strong communication skills, reliable, and honest
  • Willing to work standby shifts and weekends when needed
