Our Cape Town Study Abroad Sports department is looking to add a Sports Recruiter to their team to help place talented students in college sports programs in the USA. We offer a dynamic and challenging environment where we achieve our business objectives and have fun doing it.

Job Overview:

This role involves recruiting student-athletes for U.S. college sports programs. Key responsibilities include engaging potential candidates through calls and consultations, educating them about opportunities, evaluating their academic and athletic potential, networking with schools, attending events, maintaining client relationships, managing recruitment processes, tracking interactions on a CRM system, ensuring compliance, and reporting to leadership. Staying informed on industry trends is essential for effective marketing.

You’re perfect for this position if you:

• Hold a diploma or degree in a sports-related field
• Have a genuine passion for sports, especially tennis or hockey
• Are outgoing, articulate, and have excellent communication skills
• Possess strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks
• Can adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Are proactive in networking and expanding the client base
• Are confident in initiating conversations over the phone with prospective student-athletes
• Are computer literate, especially with Excel, Word, and Outlook

Extra points if you have:

• Played USA university/college sports
• Experience in US college sports as a player, coach, or administrator
• Studied in the USA
• A child who has recently played college sports

Your role and responsibilities:

Among other tasks, your main responsibilities will include:

Student-Athlete Recruitment:

• Conduct proactive recruitment calls and consultations
• Follow up and confirm meeting attendance
• Educate students and families about U.S. college sports opportunities
• Evaluate academic and athletic potential of student-athletes
• Attend career days, expos, and sporting events to build relationships
• Build partnerships with coaches and high school staff
• Manage relationships to drive referrals
• Ensure timely follow-ups and smooth contract reviews
• Contribute to recruitment strategies and team KPIs

Reporting and Compliance:

• Track and record client interactions on CRM
• Ensure secure handling of client information
• Report progress to management

Ad-hoc:

• Stay updated on industry trends and market opportunities
