We believe that sport plays a critical role in the holistic development of young people, and we are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Sports Coordinator to lead and grow our sporting programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual who thrives on coaching, mentorship, and creating opportunities for learners to develop resilience, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the school’s full sports programme across all phases, ensuring alignment with the school’s values and vision.
- Coach various sports codes, including at least one major team sport (e.g., archery, rugby, netball, hockey, athletics, or cricket).
- Organise fixtures, tours, festivals, and inter-school events.
- Drive participation and excellence by developing inclusive opportunities for all learners to engage in sport, from social to competitive levels.
- Manage the maintenance, use, and procurement of sporting equipment and facilities.
- Collaborate with staff to promote a culture of health, fitness, and school spirit.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to learners through sport, instilling discipline, respect, and teamwork.
- Coordinate external coaches and liaise with local clubs and regional sports bodies.
- Take responsibility for sports administration, including schedules, communication, and transport logistics.
- Support the school’s vision of holistic development by contributing to the co-curricular life of the school.
Qualifications & Attributes:
- A relevant teaching qualification or sports management degree is preferred.
- Experience in sports coaching and/or school sports coordination.
- The ability to coach at least one major team sport at a high level.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- A passion for working with young people and nurturing talent.
- A valid driver’s licence (PDP advantageous).
- The ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, and some weekends.
- SACE registration (if the candidate will also be teaching) is advantageous.
