Job summary

ADvTECH in Johannesburg seeks a dedicated Physical Education Teacher for Grades 1–7. Reporting to the Principal, you will lead the sports programme, coach several disciplines, manage events, and coordinate equipment and facilities.

Your role includes liaising with parents and visitors to the campus. The ideal candidate holds a degree or diploma in sports management or PE teaching with SACE registration and has at least three years of relevant experience, including coaching and event

Qualifications

• Minimum recognised degree or diploma in sports management or PE teaching.
• SACE registration is required.
• Experience in school sports environment preferred.
• Ability to coach and organise events.

Responsibilities

• Control and oversee the sports programme.
• Coordinate sports events, fixtures and competitions.
• Coach in various sporting disciplines.
• Liaise with parents, students and campus visitors.
• Budget and manage sports equipment and facilities.
• Oversee sports coaches and the PE programme for Grades 1–7.
• Organise league matches and internal sporting events.

Job description

Required: Must be able to teach Physical Education.

Reporting to the Principal.

Duties required

• Controlling Sports Programme
• Controlling Sports Events
• Coaching in various Sporting Disciplines.
• Liaising with parents, students, and visitors to the campus.
• Sports Equipment – budgeting and management.
• Sports Coaches – Management.
• Physical Education Teacher – Grade 1 to 7.
• Organisation of sporting events – Official League Matches and Interhouse and Internal Events.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, student and parents.
• Energetic, self-motivated, and able to use own initiative.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Must be a team player.
• First Aid Training would be required.
• Willingness to accompany teams to sporting fixtures.
• Willingness to work after school and on weekends.
• Willingness to work long hours.
• Skilled in Coaching and Refereeing/Umpiring.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement is a recognised Degree and/or a diploma in Sports’ Management or Teaching Qualification with Physical Education as a subject completed.
• SACE registration.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the same and/or similar type of position and environment.
• Ability to coach sports is essential.
• Experience in the organisation of sporting events.
