About The Role

Make a real impact by delivering evidence-based speech therapy to patients with neurological conditions at our out-patient unit in Sandton.

What You'll Do

1. Assess and treat patients with neurological conditions.
2. Deliver hands-on rehab at our out-patient department, but be willing to help out at acute and sub-acute units when required.
3. Design and implement therapy programs to improve communication skills, dysphagia, social interactions, and overall quality of life.
4. Collaborate closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team.
5. Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies.
6. Keep clear, accurate records of progress and treatment plans.

Qualifications

About You: You're an enthusiastic Speech therapist living in Johannesburg with a passion for neurorehabilitation and client-centred care.

You have more than 5 years experience in neurorehab and you're ready to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and bring innovation and compassion to your role.

You're confident to treat patients in our Sandton out-patient setting and have a special interest in dysphagia, voice and cog-communication.

You're entrepreneurial in nature and are keen to engage with referring doctors and networks to grow our out-patient department speech therapy services.

You're looking for a half-day morning position (25 hours per week).

Must have skills

1. South African citizen or holder of a valid work visa.
2. HPCSA registration for independent practice.
3. Excellent clinical assessment and reasoning skills.
4. Meticulous in clinical notes and administration.
5. Outstanding communication and empathy skills.
6. MINIMUM 5YRS NEURO EXPERIENCE.

Good to have skills

1. Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for travel between units.
2. Postgraduate courses in specialist areas (i.e. AAC, voice, dysphagia, airways, LSVT).
