Job Overview

The role involves designing, developing, customizing, facilitating, assessing, and providing feedback on technical training for all Technical Staff within the Daimler Truck Southern Africa Dealer Network. The training must comply with the Company’s Integrity & Anti-Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy, and SHE requirements. The incumbent will also perform delegated SHE tasks and inform superiors of any deviations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare training by identifying the scope of technical training for external stakeholders and customizing it to the South African context, including legislation, business specifications, and requirements.
  2. Apply specific training methodologies and facilitate DTSA technical training courses effectively.
  3. Conduct learner assessments both practically and theoretically before, during, and after interventions, including assessment centres as required.
  4. Complete summaries of results, compile trainer reports, and ensure timely issuance of qualification certificates where applicable.
  5. Develop SOPs and Quick Reference Guides aligned with the Global WPC, obtaining sign-off from the Dealer Training Academy Portfolio Head.
  6. Ensure compliance with all DTSA policies, rules, and regulations, maintaining professional behaviour before, during, and after training sessions.

Qualifications

  1. Qualified Technician
  2. Qualified Maintenance & Systems Technician
  3. Diagnostic Technician qualification is an advantage
  4. Training Certificate or Diploma in ETD (post-1994)
  5. Degree in HR or equivalent is an advantage

Experience

  1. 3-5 years of training and technical automotive experience
  2. 1-2 years’ experience with Mercedes-Benz Trucks DTAC is an advantage

Special Knowledge

  1. Knowledge of commercial vehicles and automotive systems
  2. ETDP knowledge, including skills development legislation
