Job Description - Specialist Supplier Quality (MER0003OM0)

Description

As a supplier quality engineer, you are the window person between MBSA and our local supply base to ensure Mercedes-Benz Quality for purchased parts. Conduct supplier evaluations, manage and control supplier development, including guiding suppliers in advanced quality activities and maturity management for their production processes and components. Perform activities in compliance to the Company’s Integrity & Anti Bribery codes, Conflict of interest policy & S.H.E.Q. requirements. Conduct comprehensive process audits as lead auditor and control effective corrective actions in the project as well as in the series phase.

  • Participate in the supplier evaluation and qualification of suppliers before awarding (i.e. VDA Potential Analysis)
  • Facilitate and lead the supplier in the advanced product quality planning (VDA RGA maturity level assessment) of new product project following the maturity level assurance process (VDA)
  • Use quality tools/system necessary for NPP (i.e. ABC Classification, Q-Planning, Husky, START)
  • Perform VDA 6.3 process audit at the supplier and maintain follow-up audits and schedule accordingly
  • Production process and product approval (PPAP) according to VDA 2
  • Perform and monitor supplier performance to MBSA's targets and standards
  • Annual check of the suppliers' process and product of safety and certification relevant parts (i.e. Requalification)
  • Establish and monitor supplier key process indicators (KPI) to ensure supplier performance is achieved.
  • Work with the supplier to investigate, analyse and correct supplier problems and countermeasure activities according to 8D methodology.
  • Provide lessons learned from the current running series to improve future projects.
    Facilitate the improvement phase using problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques.
Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of participation on our MBSA Graduate Development Programme.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3-5 years' relevant experience in Quality or similar areas
  • Specific Knowledge

  • Advanced Computer Literacy
