ABOUT MAMATWAN

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Specialist Risk Road Transport, you will be responsible for continually improving the Material Risk Profile for the transport risks including road transport; road truck accident, busses and business travel risks.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

•Data analysis of systems linked to the relevant risks

•Infield verifications of controls

•Identification of risk reduction opportunities

•Coaching and influencing of frontline and relevant contractors

•Informing risk and control owners to make data driven decisions

•Participating in event and hazard investigations

•Participating in road safety campaigns

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

•Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant safety, risk management, engineering or maintenance, experience in road transport/vehicles environment.

•Experience in the management of road transport accident related risks.

•Experience in data analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science

• National Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Safety Management or similar.
