ABOUT HMM

Hotazel Manganese Mines (HMM) is made up of two Manganese mines Mamatwan and Wessels. Both operations are located in the Kalahari Basin, home to 80 per cent of the world’s manganese reserves.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Specialist Risk (Electrical), you will be responsible for continually improving the Material Risk Profile for the electrical risks including electrocution and arc flash.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Data analysis of systems linked to the relevant risks
• Infield verifications of controls
• Coaching and influencing of frontline
• Informing risk and control owners to make data driven decisions
• Participating in event and hazard investigations
• Champion risk reduction initiatives

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant safety, risk management, engineering or maintenance, experience in a mining environment;
• Experience in the management of risks relating to electrical energy; and
• Experience in data analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science
• N6 Technical Diploma, National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Risk Management, Safety Management or similar.
