Our Johannesburg office based in Melrose Arch serves as the company’s Functional Hub for the Southern African Operations which include Global Services, Technology, and Enterprise Resource Planning Support Teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Specialist Payroll Processing, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and executing transactional services for the areas of GBS Payroll Processing Services as defined within the Global Business Services’ Partnership Agreement with its Customers. You will coach and support the GBS users in embedment, discipline, quality, and governance of processes and data with a focus on process integrity and compliance and support the Manager with the management of process risks.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  1. Analyse and apply country-specific legislative requirements to underlying processes for scheduled and unscheduled global payroll runs, vendor reporting, and payments;
  2. Manage outsourced payroll compliance and SLAs;
  3. Ensure appropriate periodical planning to manage relevant deliverables;
  4. Set up and maintain payroll calendar globally for South32 entities;
  5. Peer reviews of identified processes and associated controls;
  6. Ensuring integrity of positive assurance program for the function;
  7. On-time close out of all assigned risk management G360 actions;
  8. Outsourced payroll governance and compliance management.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  1. Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in HR or Payroll execution with some Shared Services experience;
  2. Specialist knowledge in payroll functions and processes;
  3. Comprehensive understanding of relevant SAP Modules.

Qualifications for this role are:

  1. Degree/BTECH/National Diploma (3 years) in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a similar discipline.
