Role Purpose/Business Unit:

Provide analytical design and solutions to Vodacom’s Engineering E2E Team.
Execute data-driven insights developed and maintained to drive solutions within regional SPOCs and team collaboration.
Ensure data construct and quality are maintained and improved.
Track progress of solutions and measure impacts, implementing new strategies to achieve Vodacom's Do or Die Goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintain and develop analytical codebase for existing toolsets within E2E Network quality.
• Develop principles in automation and machine learning for network and business insights under engineering influence.
• Liaise with regional and other network engineering teams to improve and localize network solutions related to analytics and automation.
• Develop techniques and statistical methods using automated programming principles to expedite analytics and business guidance for network problem solving, capacity analysis, product launch impact assessment, and future technology rollout considerations.
• Maintain database accuracy and relevance of various data sources, interacting with other stakeholders to ensure compliance with business and security principles.
• Use geospatial techniques to enhance network evaluation and customer impact analysis.
• Develop synergies in automation of analytics within the engineering community to streamline operational workloads and increase efficiency.
• Train regional staff in the use of automated tooling systems and analytics.
• Source new datasets for ingestion into analytical frameworks to enhance quality, capacity monitoring, forecasting, and reduce resolution times.
• Generate automated methods for capacity planning and coverage analytics for new product evaluation and design.
• Collaborate with sales and commercial units to formulate network design and capacity analysis aligned with consumer needs.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• BSc degree in Engineering/IT or equivalent.
• Programming training in C# is desirable.
• Preferred experience in Python and JavaScript programming.
• 1 year experience with SQL or database development.
• Preferred 3 years’ experience in telecommunications.
• Preferred experience in Python programming.
• 2 years’ experience in data analytics.

• Programming and database maintenance and design.
• Mathematical/numerical methods.
