Core Description
Responsible for the execution of IT programmes and projects or groups of projects within the Openserve environment according to PMBOK, AGILE and or Hybrid (combination of Agile, Waterfall and other) project methodologies. Ensure that Openserve programmes or projects produce the deliverables at the required standard of quality within the specified constraints of time, cost and quality, to achieve the benefits defined in the business case. Work with vendors and suppliers to meet project objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for all programme oversight including planning, directing, and managing cross-functional team members.
- Implement and manage programme and projects according to the defined scope, budget, timeline, business outcomes, Change Requests (CR), design, and architecture requirements.
- Ensure good relations and alignment of programmes and projects with the business community.
- Update project management tracking tools and monitor project delivery in terms of financial spend and productivity.
- Proactively track and manage project schedule deliverables ensuring tasks are delivered on time and deadlines are met.
- Establish cross functional project teams and manage cross functional and master schedules to ensure alignment across projects.
- Liaise with cross functional teams and negotiate appropriate roles and responsibilities for the dependencies and challenges that are inherent.
- Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with all relevant stakeholders to reassess and amend the scope of work requirements, budget and timeline.
- Compile or develop suitable programme and project reports and dashboards to inform stakeholders.
- Direct and coordinate a team of project managers in delivering quality projects in various programmes.
- Establish and continually evolve the Project Management methodology in alignment with standard industry project management principles, sound business engagement practices, including communication, establishing governance forums such as steering committee meetings and core teams.
- Financial Management including budgeting, controls and monitoring OPEX and CAPEX expenditure.
- Have proficiency in Waterfall software delivery, Agile software delivery and hybrid software delivery (combination of Waterfall and Agile).
- Negotiates pragmatic delivery and implementation plans with project resources, delivery partners, vendors; and influences direction of all participants to meet the project goals and objectives.
- Sets and continually manages project expectations with leadership and other stakeholders.
